Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus Bundle: Is $120 Worth It?
Sam's Club Plus includes Walmart+ for $120 a year since Oct 20, 2026. Who it pays for, who it doesn't, the $22 and $60 upgrade math and a break-even table.

The short answer: who it pays for, and who it doesn't
Starting Oct 20, 2026, Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus come together for $120 a year. Walmart's announcement says that's "almost $100 less than members were previously paying for the two memberships separately" (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026). The announcement gives no end date.
- Pays for you: you already have Sam's Club Plus. Walmart+ is included "at no additional cost." You have to link your Walmart and Sam's Club accounts to start using it (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026; Sam's Club help, checked Oct 21, 2026).
- Likely pays: you pay for Walmart+ Annual and get to a Sam's Club now and then. Switching costs "$22 more a year" (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026). That's less than the $60 Sam's Club Club membership (samsclub.com, checked Oct 21, 2026), and 2% Sam's Cash covers the $22 at $1,100 a year of qualifying in-club spending (our math below).
- Pays back: you already pay for both. Walmart says: "Already paying for both? Just link your Walmart+ and Sam's Club accounts. Most members are eligible for a prorated refund for Walmart+." (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026). Walmart's FAQ adds that if you're eligible, linking starts the refund automatically, and Walmart decides eligibility and the amount (walmart.com/plus/samsclub, checked Oct 21, 2026).
- Depends: you have a Sam's Club Club membership. Walmart lists the upgrade to Plus at "$60 more a year" (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026), but Sam's Club says the real amount depends on the time left in your term (see the caveat below). On 2% cash back alone it pays at $3,000 a year of in-club spending, or sooner if you'd use Walmart+ delivery, streaming or gas savings.
- Doesn't pay: no Sam's Club near you and no Walmart delivery orders. $120 buys perks you won't use.
- Doesn't pay (or think twice): your Walmart+ is free through an American Express card benefit. Sam's Club says the $120 plan "is not covered by your AMEX benefit, so you will no longer see a monthly statement credit" (Sam's Club help, checked Oct 21, 2026).
- Think twice: you pay a discounted Walmart+ Assist or Student rate. Walmart+ lists that rate at $49 a year (walmart.com/plus, checked Oct 21, 2026), and Walmart says those discounts "don't carry over" to the $120 membership (walmart.com/plus/samsclub, checked Oct 21, 2026).
What's in the $120 membership
From Walmart's announcement and its footnotes (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026):
- Sam's Club access with member-only prices.
- Free delivery from Walmart ($35 minimum on scheduled orders) and from Sam's Club ($50 minimum), subject to availability.
- One ad-supported streaming service at a time, Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential, and you can switch every 90 days.
- Gas savings of 10 cents a gallon at more than 17,000 participating stations (5–10 cents in Alabama).
- 2% Sam's Cash on qualifying purchases, up to $750 a year. Sam's Club's help page says that's on "qualifying pre-tax, in-club purchases," with a "Maximum $750 Sam's Cash per 12-month membership" (Sam's Club help, checked Oct 21, 2026).
It's annual only. Walmart's FAQ: "Is there a monthly option? No. Walmart+ with Sam's Club Plus is $120 a year, plus applicable tax." There's no trial (walmart.com/plus/samsclub, checked Oct 21, 2026).
Already a member? What you'd pay
| You have now | What Walmart lists (Oct 20, 2026) | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Sam's Club Plus ($120 a year) | "Activate Walmart+ at no additional cost." | Link your accounts. It's for the primary Plus member only. |
| Walmart+ Annual ($98 a year) | "$22 more a year" | You'll see what you pay today, any refund and your renewal date before you confirm. |
| Walmart+ Monthly ($12.95 a month) | No dollar figure given | Walmart's FAQ says the upgrade cost "depends on your membership type & how much time is left in your current term." |
| Sam's Club Club ($60 a year) | "$60 more a year" | Depends on the time left in your term (caveat below). |
| Both, paid separately | Link your accounts | "Already paying for both? Just link your Walmart+ and Sam's Club accounts. Most members are eligible for a prorated refund for Walmart+." |
| Neither | $120 a year for both | Annual only, plus tax. |
Sources: upgrade lines from Walmart's Oct 20, 2026 announcement. Current prices: Sam's Club Plus $120 and Club $60 from samsclub.com/join; Walmart+ "Monthly: $12.95/month. Annual: $98/year. Plus applicable taxes." from walmart.com/plus; upgrade and refund details from walmart.com/plus/samsclub. All checked Oct 21, 2026, 14:56 UTC.
Sam's Club caveat for Club members: "Your upgrade amount depends on the time left in your current Sam's Club term. You'll see the amount before you confirm" (Sam's Club help, checked Oct 21, 2026). So "$60 more a year" is Walmart's headline figure; check the amount the app shows you before you confirm.
Break-even math
How much qualifying in-club spending it takes for 2% back alone to cover the extra cost. It ignores member prices, delivery, streaming and gas, so it's a conservative test. Our math, using the prices above (checked Oct 21, 2026).
| Decision | Extra cost a year | 2% back covers it at | About per month | Reward cap reached at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walmart+ Annual to the $120 bundle | $22 | $1,100 | $92 | $37,500 (Sam's Cash cap $750) |
| Sam's Club Club to Plus with Walmart+ | Up to $60 | $3,000 | $250 | $37,500 (Sam's Cash cap $750) |
| For comparison: Costco Gold Star to Executive | $65 | $3,250 | $271 | $62,500 (Costco cap $1,250) |
Inputs: $22 and $60 from Walmart, Oct 20, 2026; 2% and the $750 cap from Sam's Club help; Costco's $65 upgrade fee, 2% Reward and $1,250 cap from costco.com. Checked Oct 21, 2026. Break-even = extra cost ÷ 2%.
Worked example (an example, not a quote)
Example only. Say you pay $98 a year for Walmart+ Annual and spend $200 a month in club at Sam's Club ($2,400 a year). Switching to the $120 membership costs $22 more a year. 2% Sam's Cash on $2,400 is $48, so you come out $26 ahead on cash back alone, before any member prices. Buying Walmart+ Annual ($98) and a Sam's Club Club membership ($60) separately would cost $158, so the bundle is $38 less. Your own numbers will differ: Sam's Cash counts only qualifying pre-tax, in-club purchases. Prices used: walmart.com/plus and samsclub.com/join, checked Oct 21, 2026.
How it compares: Costco Executive and Target Circle 360
| Membership | Price | Rewards | Source (checked Oct 21, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sam's Club Plus (now includes Walmart+) | $120 a year | 2% Sam's Cash, up to $750 per 12-month membership | samsclub.com, Sam's Club help |
| Costco Executive | $130 a year ($65 Gold Star plus a $65 upgrade fee) | 2% Reward, capped at $1,250 for any 12-month period | costco.com |
| Target Circle 360 | $10.99 a month or $99 a year | No percentage reward; Target Circle Card holders get 50% off the annual membership | target.com |
The $120 Sam's Club Plus price now also covers Walmart+ (Walmart delivery, a streaming choice and gas savings, per Walmart, Oct 20, 2026). Costco's reward cap is higher ($1,250 vs $750). Costco also says it prorates its Executive upgrade "based on the months remaining in your current membership" (costco.com, checked Oct 21, 2026). BJ's says its Club+ membership earns "2% back in rewards on most BJ's purchases," but bjs.com/membership didn't list membership prices when we checked on Oct 21, 2026, so we've left BJ's prices out.
What changes, and what doesn't carry over
- Household members: "The included Walmart+ membership is for the eligible Primary Sam's Club Plus Member. Sam's Club Complimentary & Add-On Members don't receive a separate included Walmart+ membership." Walmart+ Benefit Sharing can still share some benefits with one household member (walmart.com/plus/samsclub, checked Oct 21, 2026).
- Two accounts, two apps: orders, payment methods and rewards stay separate, and "Sam's Cash® & Walmart Cash also remain separate." Your accounts can use different email addresses.
- Tax-exempt status on your Sam's Club membership doesn't carry over to Walmart, and Walmart Business accounts aren't eligible.
- Downgrading to Club: Sam's Club says "your included Walmart+ benefit ends when the Sam's Club Plus Membership expires after the downgrade" (Sam's Club help, checked Oct 21, 2026).
- Canceling the $120 membership ends both Sam's Club Plus perks and Walmart+ benefits at the end of your current term.
How to join, upgrade or link accounts
Walmart says: "Join, upgrade or link accounts in the Walmart or Sam's Club apps or at walmart.com/plus/samsclub" (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026). If you already have Sam's Club Plus, link a new or existing Walmart+ account from the Account screen in the Sam's Club app. Before you confirm an upgrade, Walmart shows your charge, any refund and your renewal date.

Quick answers
Does Sam's Club Plus include Walmart+?
Yes. Since Oct 20, 2026, Sam's Club Plus ($120 a year) includes Walmart+ Annual at no extra cost for the eligible primary Plus member. You have to link your Sam's Club and Walmart accounts to start using Walmart+ benefits (Walmart and Sam's Club, checked Oct 21, 2026).
If I have Sam's Club Plus, do I have Walmart+?
Not until you link your accounts. Walmart says Sam's Club Plus members can 'Activate Walmart+ at no additional cost' by linking their Walmart and Sam's Club accounts in either app or on walmart.com (Walmart, Oct 20, 2026).
Is Sam's Club Plus the same as Walmart+?
No. They're two memberships sold together for $120 a year. The accounts stay separate: you use Walmart for Walmart+ benefits and Sam's Club for Plus perks, and Sam's Cash and Walmart Cash stay separate (walmart.com, checked Oct 21, 2026).
Is there a monthly option for Walmart+ with Sam's Club Plus?
No. Walmart's FAQ says: 'No. Walmart+ with Sam's Club Plus is $120 a year, plus applicable tax.' There's no trial either (walmart.com, checked Oct 21, 2026).
How much is the Walmart+ refund if I already pay for both?
Walmart doesn't give a fixed amount. Its announcement says: 'Already paying for both? Just link your Walmart+ and Sam's Club accounts. Most members are eligible for a prorated refund for Walmart+.' Its FAQ says linking starts the refund automatically if you're eligible, and Walmart decides eligibility and the amount (checked Oct 21, 2026).
How much does it cost to upgrade from a Sam's Club Club membership?
Walmart lists it at $60 more a year (Oct 20, 2026), but Sam's Club says your upgrade amount depends on the time left in your current term, and you'll see it before you confirm (checked Oct 21, 2026).
