Top toys 2026: what's on the retailers' own lists
Updated October 17, 2026. We read each retailer's list on its own site on October 17, 2026, around 06:10 UTC. #ad: some links below are Amazon affiliate links. See our disclosure.
The 2026 toy lists we checked
- Target: Bullseye's Top Toys List, 50 toys, announced October 5, 2026. Target says more than half are exclusive to Target.
- Amazon: Amazon's 2026 Top 100+ Toys list, on Amazon's news site.
- Walmart: the Walmart Top Toys shop page on walmart.com. We didn't find a 2026 Top Toys press release from Walmart, so we treat this as a shop page, not an official announcement.
Kohl's and Best Buy hadn't published a 2026 top toys list that we could find.

Same brand, different product: CrunchLabs (Target lists the Egg Drop Challenge; Amazon lists The Crunchinator), Play-Doh Blooms (Amazon lists the Blush Flower Bouquet; Walmart's page shows the Meadow Flower Bouquet) and Maxx Action school buses (Target and Walmart show differently named buses). We didn't count those as the same toy.
One-list standouts
Nintendo Switch 2 is on Target's list. Target's list also includes the Barbie DreamHouse and Tickle Me Elmo. Amazon's list includes the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box, and Walmart's page shows Tamagotchi Paradise.
Are toy prices lower on Black Friday?
Sometimes. A big "was" price can be a toy's peak price, not its usual price, so check the price history first. We post price-history checked deals, 20%+ below the usual price, clearly labeled. Smaller drops are just sales. See when each store's sale starts on our Black Friday 2026 dates page, and if you buy early, check the price match policies (Target's is 14 days).

FAQ
What are the top toys for Christmas 2026?
Target, Amazon and Walmart have each picked their own. The toys on more than one of those lists include the PAW Patrol Megasaurus Dino Vehicle (on all three), the Pokémon Pikachu Puppetronic, the GUI GUI Mega Slime Haul, the Primal Hatch Megalodon and the VTech Kidi Star guitar.
When did Target release its 2026 top toys list?
Target announced Bullseye's Top Toys List, with 50 toys, on October 5, 2026.
Does Walmart have an official 2026 top toys list?
We found Walmart's Top Toys shop page on walmart.com, but no 2026 Top Toys press release on Walmart's corporate newsroom. Walmart's 2025 list was announced there on September 16, 2025.
Is the Nintendo Switch 2 on a 2026 top toys list?
Yes. It is on Target's Bullseye's Top Toys List for 2026.
Are these toys on sale?
We only call something a deal when it is 20%+ below its usual price in price history. Prices for these toys are still being checked, so we show "Price check pending" for now.
